Murphy's law

The last week was a quite strange one. There were ups and downs, lefts and rights but no straight direction at all. So, wha' happen'?First, There was this Wednesday, when I spinned some plastic at a club called "Cinnabar Redd". I burned some forty CDs and put proper vibes into the place. After all these years, playin' CDs was a little strange to handle, especially without a monitor and the like... But everybody was quite well with the sound and they seemed to like it.Second was the farmhouse-party on Saturday. We rented a house with a huge green lawn and a deep blue swimming-pool to excessively party with all it takes. Again, I was spinning some plastic with phat Techno-Tracks and went the ruff way... After dancing till sunrise, I took a little walk for having a pee and when I returned five minutes after, I found out that somebody stole my pouch, which I left on a chair...Digicam, mobile, wallet with debit cards and lots of important things were just gone from one moment to the other - shit happens! On Sunday afternoon, all the bunch of us went to the football-field of the Nizam College for football-practice. I was the goalie and I am mad enough to be a good one, I think. But the absence of fear was very contraproductive since I once had to stop a ball by jumping, stretching, flying, landing on the ground and having a full break with head, elbows, breast and tummy on the dirty, stony ground. I was successful and could touch the ball with my fingertips to give it a little push and made it missing the goal by a few centimeters. But when I stood up, I felt everything hurting and I decided to go to hospital. There, they gave me basic treatment, cleaned and desinfected the wounds with ayodine and a kind of brush. Now I am covered all over with friction burns, deep scars and whatever. But the good thing is that I only had to pay 130 Rs. for the treatment, which is around 2,60 Euros (Tetanus-vaccination included). The next days, I will stay home. I should have done that on the last weekend... |

Insomnia

How to teach cats!?
|
| |
One night in last week, when I was just about falling into my bed, I could smell something very disgusting. After some investigation, I found out that the stench comes from inside my room and after searching a little more, I saw a nasty piece of genuine cat-shit in a corner of my bedroom! I couldn't believe - We all sit in the livingroom and play with the cat, stroke it, are nice, give food... and what do I get back?!?! Since there was no tap-water available to clean the mess, I had to use some sand to cover the stinky stuff. So I went out of the house, into the monsoon-rain, walked over to the construction-site next door where I picked up some sand from a pile. The "workers" sleeping there gave me a few crazy looks, said something unimportant in Telugu and I rushed off again with the sand, totally soaked from the rain. At least, I had a shower then... The next morning, I heard a "Meeoouw" from the door and I saw the delinquent standing in the door again, looking at me. I looked back, showed my teeth, jumped over, grabbed the little tiger and put my hands around it's neck. Then I pushed the nose of the scratching and screaming creature into the stinky brown pile. When the cat-face was brown as well, I threw the little feline out of the door... Guess what?! The bastard came back after 10 minutes! I think I have to improve my instructional methods... If you have any suggestions how to achieve a sustaining effect, please let me know - all ideas are welcome! |

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance
|
| |
Last Weekend, some of us trainees have been visiting the Golconda Primary School. There, Kids from 6 to 14 have some basic education in an atrium-like building without proper classrooms. We've been there on behalf of Satyam Foundation, a NGO doing social work and giving support to various institutions across the country, especially in Hyd. It was kind of shocking to see these kids trying to pick up some knowledge under such conditions. They even don't have notebooks to do their homework properly. But can we help them somehow without only providing the required material? Just buying some stuff seems to be too easy...
We planned to get involved in this with some workshops on Geography and basic English. The kids were quite interested when we showed them some world-maps and explained where we come from, how the weather, the food, the songs and dances are like in our countries. But I am not very sure if they really understood what we said. But there are other languages...
Anyway... they were so grateful and happy! The kids paid back our little efforts with lots of smiles and laughter...
We'll soon be back! |

The Boss
|
| |
I tell you one thing only: The Boss is not the Boss!
The 'Boss' is a concept.
Here, I tell my 'Bosses' where to drive the Rickshaw, how to wash my socks, to give me a pack of "Classic Milds" and how to fix the fusebox...And that is confirmed! |
